Let’s Talk Stuttering at Little Sisters: Panel Event Exploring Stuttering, Homosexuality and Acceptance
I'm very excited to share about our upcoming panel event in Little Sister's Book and Art Emporium on Davie Street next week. The event is a panel event including myself along with two guest speakers; speech pathologist Wendy Duke and Dr Tim Lazaroff, a Certified Cognitive Behavioural Group Specialist and expert on masculinity and men’s mental health. The aim is to educate people about stuttering, highlighting both the physical and emotional challenges and allow the audience to interact with our guest speakers.
I will be reading from my honest, uplifting and funny memoir, Just One More Drive: The true story of a stuttering homosexual and his race car, followed by presentations by Wendy, the founder and clinical director the Columbia Speech & Language Services, and Tim, founder of the Lazaroff Centre for Behavioural Change Skills Training. There will open discussion and Q & A opportunities throughout.
The free drop-in event is from 5:00 to 6:15pm at Little Sisters, 1238 Davie Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1N3, and light refreshments will be offered.
Event RSVPs: Robert O’Brien, robert@justonemoredrive.com. This is a free, drop-in event, but places are limited.
